Job DescriptionJob Title: Donor Care Specialist

Location: Hyannis, MA
Duration: 13 Weeks (Contract)
Schedule: 40 Hours/Week (Rotating Shifts)

  • Shifts may include: 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM, 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM, 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM, 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM

  • Occasional weekends and holidays required

Compensation:

  • Travel Pay: $33 – $35/hr ($1,320 – $1,400/week)

  • Local Pay: $28 – $30/hr ($1,120 – $1,200/week)

Position Summary:

We are seeking a Donor Care Specialist to support blood donation services through donor recruitment, screening, and collection. This role is essential in ensuring a safe, efficient, and positive experience for all blood donors while meeting regulatory and quality standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external stakeholders.

  • Conduct donor screening to determine eligibility in accordance with regulatory standards.

  • Perform whole blood collection and therapeutic phlebotomy procedures.

  • Assist in both on-site donor centers and off-site blood drives.

  • Prepare, label, and handle blood components and samples for testing.

  • Maintain accurate donor records, including data entry and deferral documentation.

  • Ensure compliance with all quality control, safety, and regulatory requirements.

  • Assist in donor recruitment initiatives and outreach programs.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

  • Prior phlebotomy experience required.

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.

  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment.

  • Basic computer proficiency.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • National certification in phlebotomy.

  • Completion of an accredited phlebotomy training program.
