Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

You'll work within either Carbon or Lehigh counties, providing vital support and continuity of care for students in a range of classroom settings.

Required Qualifications:

Valid Pennsylvania teaching license
Active PA PDE Certification
Demonstrated experience in special education settings
Proven record of participating in IEP development and carrying out plans
Availability for in-person assignments (remote work is not an option)

Key Responsibilities:

Serve as a substitute Special Education Teacher across designated geographic regions, covering short-term absences and leaves
When not assigned to a specific site, support classrooms within the IU network, ensuring quality educational experiences for students with special needs
Implement individualized education plans, monitor progress, and collaborate with classroom staff and case managers
Adapt quickly to new environments and teams, providing seamless instructional support wherever needed
Maintain accurate records and uphold compliance with educational standards and protocols

Assignment Details:

Expected work dates: August 2026 through June 2027 (aligned with academic calendar)
35 hours per week
Assignments distributed across Carbon and Lehigh counties, requiring travel within these regions
