Summary

The Psychometrician is responsible for leading the analysis, development, and validation of high-stakes assessments and certification programs. This role applies advanced measurement and psychometric principles to support the design, maintenance, and continuous improvement of credentialing solutions in compliance with industry and accreditation standards (e.g., NCCA). The Psychometrician partners closely with clients, subject matter experts, and internal teams to conduct data analysis, produce technical documentation, support certification implementation, and deliver defensible, data-driven solutions that enhance workforce development and professional credentialing initiatives.


Responsibilities

  • Conduct data analysis on assessments (i.e., pilot-tests, production versions, ongoing maintenance) and surveys (e.g., item-level, test-level, demographics, etc.)
  • Assist with the development and execution of certification assessments so all aspects are compliant with major third-party accreditation standards (e.g., NCCA)
  • Demonstrate sound judgment and decision making when providing solutions to clients considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions on certification implementation and maintenance
  • Build and maintain excellent client relationships
  • Apply active learning to understand the implications of new information when developing credential solutions to meet client needs, wants, and constraints (i.e., analyze client needs and requirements to create a viable solution while remaining in compliance with industry best practices and NCCA accreditation standards)
  • Conduct literature reviews and develop reports for research projects, including reviewing academic and business literature
  • Focus your written communication skills to develop visual representations of data analysis for client deliverables and presentations, to prepare technical reports, validation documents and official documentation in support of the defensibility of high stakes assessments
  • Your skillful ability to communicate will help to facilitate meetings with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and Thought Leaders to support project needs (e.g., test development, certification program development, certification reporting, etc.) and to make client presentations, coordinate examination review committees, and participate in professional organizations


Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be well versed in measurement principles, test construction, and test validation.
  • Ten (10) years of experience in the development of skill standards.
  • Ten (10) years of experience in the development, administration and interpretation of psychometrically-sound tests and other assessment instruments.
  • Seven (7) years of experience developing technical/program documentation that meets accreditation standards.
  • Ten (10) years of experience generating, utilizing, and communicating item and test -level statistics (using CTT or IRT)
  • Ability to obtain a TS/SCI security clearance


Education:

  • Education: Masters degree from an accredited university with a focus on educational measurement, quantitative psychology, or industrial/organizational psychology.



Preferred Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Ability to occasionally travel
  • Must be able to obtain a clearance
  • Three (3) years of experience in analyzing functions of DoD Intelligence and Security classified work and capability modeling, integrating DoD skill standards and competencies into workforce development strategies.
  • PhD in Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Education Psychology, or measurement program from an accredited university.



WORK ENVIRONMENT



Work is performed primarily in office, vehicles, and occasionally working group or conference settings, in all weather conditions, though mostly indoors. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet in office settings and moderate in other situations.
