What You'll Do:
As the HR Generalist/Manager, you will plan, manage, and implement HR processes, policies, programs and reporting for the business to ensure aligned business/people goals are achieved.
Your Accountabilities in the Role:
- Manages the day-to-day HR side of the business for 3 locations, ensuring employee satisfaction, engagement, and compliance.
- Manages and implements the HR policies/procedures to ensure the goals of the business are met, as well as compliance factors.
- Oversees the entire employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, development, retention, and offboarding to promote employee engagement and retention.
- Handles unemployment and workers' compensation claims in an effective manner to ensure overall compliance and accuracy.
- Manages and handles compensation, benefit administration and other HR related topics for the staff members to ensure employee and business needs are met.
- Researches and implements employee training and development programs to enhance skills and performance of the team.
- Manage the payroll processing and HRIS systems to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Monitors and analyzes HR metrics to assess the effectiveness of HR programs and policies.
- Collaborates closely with senior leadership to ensure HR initiatives align with business goals and contribute to a positive employee experience.
Position Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Organizational Management, Business Administration or related field preferred; will consider a combination of education and experience.
- Experience: 5+ years of progressive Sr Generalist or HR Manager experience in a manufacturing environment preferred. Handling payroll is a requirement. Experience overseeing HR within a union environment would be a plus.
- Certification(s): SHRM-CP or PHR preferred
- Functional Skills: Forward-thinker with excellent skills in researching, planning, prioritizing and administering activities, policies, and programs; ability to find the facts and problem-solve; great with details and multi-tasking; highly organized, with solid follow-through to get things done well.
- Technology Aptitude/Skills: Advanced ability with technology and systems; proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to present to individuals and groups; ability to provide HR training to all levels.
- Leadership/Behaviors: Kind and compassionate with an assertive yet supportive personality to ensure policies are handled well with options for the Supervisors; flexible with a proactive approach to reviewing/implementing new practices to achieve desired results; able to relate to people at all levels; reliable team member and collaborator, high level of personal and professional integrity, polished demeanor, innovative mindset; able to consistently produce high-quality work and deliver exceptional service; able to be discrete with confidential information; strong focus on people and business growth.

Reports To: COO
Core Hours: 8:00 am – 5:00 pm (schedule can be flexible; will work approx. 8 hours within this timeframe)
Typical Work Week: M-F; 40 - 45 hours a week on average
Direct Reports: None
Travel: Limited; travel to other plants as needed.
Work Environment: Typical office environment; occasional visits to production as needed.
