Overview:
The Emergency Response Technician is a field-based role responsible for supporting emergency response across multiple states. This position plays a critical role in utility storm recovery, fire response, and other natural disaster events by assisting with logistics, material staging, crew support, and infrastructure readiness. Travel, adaptability, and availability on short notice are required.
Responsibilities:
- Support setup and operation of staging sites for emergency responses
- Distribute and manage critical materials (e.g., optic fiber, storm gear, materials)
- Maintain accurate inventory logs and daily reports
- Assist crews with on-site needs and provide field-level logistical support
- Collaborate with utility partners and warehouse managers
- Ensure tools and vehicles are accounted for, maintained, and secured
- Operate under direction of site supervisors or deployment lead
- Maintain safety protocols and follow all site-specific guidelines
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Represent the company professionally in the field
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Ability to follow instructions under pressure
- Familiarity with warehouse, logistics, or storm deployment support
- Reliable, flexible, and mission-focused mindset
- Basic computer/smartphone proficiency (e.g., inventory apps, reporting)
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience in emergency response, fire service, military, utility, or logistics preferred
- Valid driver’s license required
- Forklift and small equipment operation required
- OSHA 10 certification required
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to work outdoors and in extreme weather conditions
- Must be able to walk, stand, bend, and operate tools for extended periods
Work Schedule:
- Ability to work weekends and holidays
- Frequent travel and overnight response required
- Ability to work long shifts
