NOW HIRING!! A-Line is seeking a detail-oriented Health Information Technician to support medical records and health information management operations in a healthcare setting. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate patient records, scanning and organizing documentation, compiling reports, and ensuring compliance with healthcare recordkeeping standards and confidentiality requirements.

Location: Orient, OH
Pay Rate: $17.00/hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:00 PM


Position Overview

Candidates with strong administrative skills, medical office experience, and proficiency in Microsoft Office are encouraged to apply. Electronic Health Record (EHR) experience is a plus; training will be provided.


Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Current CPR/BLS certification required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills
  • Medical office or healthcare administrative experience preferred
  • Electronic Health Record (EHR) experience preferred but not required
  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information


Key Responsibilities

  • Compile and maintain health information records and medical charts
  • Review medical reports for completeness and accuracy
  • Organize and prepare charts for new admissions
  • Scan and upload documents into the Electronic Health Record system
  • File, retrieve, and maintain medical records and related documentation
  • Prepare forms, requests, reports, and certificates as needed
  • Compile and type statistical reports, including admissions, discharges, census data, Medicaid days, and length-of-stay reports
  • Verify that required reports, signatures, and documentation are present in patient records
  • Maintain logs and filing systems for health information records
  • Respond to approved requests for health information in accordance with confidentiality regulations
  • Coordinate with other departments regarding medical records procedures and documentation requirements


Preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Understanding of health information technology and medical records management
  • Familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid, and healthcare documentation regulations
  • Knowledge of patient confidentiality standards and HIPAA principles
  • Ability to proofread medical documentation and identify missing information
  • Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
  • Ability to gather, organize, classify, and maintain information efficiently
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
