FLSA STATUS: Salary / Overtime Ineligible

LOCATION: Social Services

FUNCTION: Responsible for providing occupational therapy support to the CCS Youth - CORE teams by assisting youth and young adults enrolled in the CORE program by participating in everyday activities that are congruent with their life goals and recovery plan.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

  1. Assist CORE participants in identifying and acquiring appropriate resources toward meeting their daily living activities and individual goals toward being independent and able to address their ongoing mental health needs. E
  2. Work with CORE families to assist them in understanding how they can support the client in reaching their identified goals toward being independent (i.e., psychoeducation, medication management, financial support, etc.) E
  3. Collaborate with the CORE Teams toward addressing the individual needs of their enrollees, including taking part in Child and Family Team meetings, CORE team meetings, and consultations. E
  4. Work to identify informal and nature support in the community that can be used toward meeting long-term goals for CORE clients and work with CORE clients to help them to explore such opportunities. E
  5. Attend meetings and professional development activities, as required. E
  6. Establish and maintain good communication, collaboration, and cooperation with all parents, co-workers, etc. E
  7. Follow all duties of a mandated reporter. E
  8. Perform other related duties, as assigned. NE
  9. Be a team player! E

REPORTS TO: Program Coordinator - Youth Programs – CCS Youth/CORE

Requirements

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Work is generally performed in field and office environments, includes travel to client homes for appointments and /or court hearings. Local travel required; some occasional state-wide travel may be needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited college or university.
  2. Licensed as an Occupational Therapist in the State of WI.
  3. One (1) year experience working with people with complex mental health needs.
  4. Certification by the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) (Preferred)
  5. Emphasis on Health & Wellness and/or Mental Health (Highly desirable)
  6. Bilingual (Spanish and English), spoken and written. (Desirable)
  7. Neat orderly person with great organizational skills.
  8. Must be a “People Person” with a great disposition and outlook on life, who enjoys working with others, is upbeat and pleasant to work with and is a good listener.
  9. Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office suite.
  10. Must be willing and able to work flexible hours as needed.
  11. Excellent communication and documentation skills, written and verbal
  12. Must pass all background checks.
