Job Description**About the Role

**

The Customer Service Specialist / Optician plays a key role in delivering an exceptional in-store experience by guiding customers through eyewear selection, performing accurate optical measurements, and ensuring high standards of service, accuracy, and brand representation. This role combines customer service, technical optician support, and retail operations in a fast-paced environment.

**Key Responsibilities

**

  • Assist customers in selecting eyewear based on visual needs, lifestyle, and personal preferences

  • Perform eyewear fittings and frame adjustments to ensure comfort and accuracy

  • Take precise optical measurements including pupillary distance, temple length, and bridge size

  • Educate customers on lens options, eyewear care, warranties, and store policies

  • Process sales transactions, payments, returns, and exchanges using POS systems

  • Maintain organized, well-stocked sales floor and backroom inventory

  • Receive, verify, and process incoming inventory shipments

  • Perform basic eyeglass assembly and frame adjustments as needed

  • Address customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints with professionalism and integrity

  • Respond to customer emails and phone inquiries regarding products and store services

  • Support store goals through teamwork and collaboration

  • Participate in training sessions, staff meetings, and company updates

  • Ensure compliance with company policies related to privacy, safety, security, and customer records

**Qualifications

**

  • Minimum 1 year of customer service experience required

  • Optical or retail experience preferred

  • ABO Certification preferred but not required

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • High attention to detail, especially with prescriptions and measurements

  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced retail environment

  • Team-oriented mindset with a positive and proactive attitude

  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and varied shifts

**Education & Certifications

**

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred

  • ABO Certification preferred
