Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years MS RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Deliver exceptional orthopedic nursing care on the night shift at a well-established hospital known for advanced specialty services and compassionate patient treatment. This contract role offers the opportunity to work a flexible schedule with either 36 or 48 guaranteed hours per week on a busy orthopedic unit caring for post-trauma and surgical patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct patient care including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation for orthopedic inpatients.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and ancillary departments to optimize patient outcomes and comfort.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and uphold professional accountability in nursing practice aligned with mission and service standards.
  • Assist with patient mobility including lifting and turning with appropriate support.
  • Utilize EMR (Epic) system for documentation and coordination of care.
  • Adapt to floating requirements to similar or lower acuity units as needed.
  • Participate in orientation, including day shift orientation prior to night shift start.

Desired Qualifications & Experience:

  • Current RN license eligible or active in Missouri.
  • Minimum 2 years inpatient orthopedic nursing experience required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
  • Ability to work every other weekend and comply with flu vaccination policy November through April.
  • Dependable, flexible, and collaborative team player committed to high standards of care.

Shift & Schedule:

  • Nights, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
  • 36 or 48 hours/week (flexible, to be specified upon submission)
  • Weekend rotations every other weekend as needed
