Job Title: Service & Installation Plumber
Job Description
The Service & Installation Plumber diagnoses, repairs, and installs residential plumbing systems while delivering a high level of customer satisfaction. This role requires strong technical expertise, excellent problem-solving abilities, and clear communication with homeowners. Workdays begin at 7:30 AM, with schedules that may extend depending on job scope and customer needs.
Responsibilities
- Perform residential plumbing service, repairs, and installations using standard troubleshooting methods and tools.
- Handle a wide range of service calls, including drain cleaning and stoppages, leak detection and repair, fixture installations (toilets, faucets, disposals, and similar fixtures), water heater repair and replacement for both tank and tankless systems, and sewer line inspections and repairs.
- Diagnose plumbing issues accurately and identify root causes rather than only treating symptoms.
- Use appropriate tools and equipment such as drain machines, hydro jetting systems, inspection cameras, and other diagnostic devices to perform work safely and effectively.
- Communicate findings clearly to customers and recommend appropriate solutions based on their needs and the condition of their plumbing systems.
- Provide accurate estimates, explain the scope of work, and answer customer questions in a professional and customer-focused manner.
- Complete jobs efficiently while maintaining high-quality workmanship and adherence to local plumbing codes and safety standards.
- Utilize CRM and service software such as ServiceTitan, Housecall Pro, Jobber, or similar platforms for job tracking, documentation, and route management.
- Maintain organized work habits, including proper management of materials, tools, and job details for each service call.
- Ensure the company vehicle, tools, and equipment are properly maintained, clean, and ready for daily use.
- Manage multiple service calls per day in a fast-paced environment while maintaining strong time management and route efficiency.
- Build trust with homeowners through professional communication, ethical upselling of solutions, and customer service-oriented behavior.
- Represent the company professionally in all customer interactions and contribute positively to a team-oriented work culture.
Essential Skills
- At least 4 years of plumbing experience in residential and/or commercial environments.
- Strong troubleshooting, repair, and installation experience across a variety of plumbing systems.
- Proficiency with drain cleaning and sewer line diagnostics, including snaking, hydro jetting, and camera inspections.
- Hands-on experience with water heater repair and installation for both tank and tankless systems.
- Solid understanding of residential service plumbing, including diagnostics, repairs, and fixture installations.
- Knowledge of local plumbing codes and safety standards and the ability to apply them in daily work.
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify root causes of plumbing issues.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, including the ability to explain solutions clearly and build rapport with homeowners.
- Ability to work independently, manage workload effectively, and handle multiple service calls per day.
- Clean driving record and the ability to operate a company vehicle safely.
- Reliable, punctual, and professional work habits, with attention to detail and organized work practices.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience using CRM and service software such as ServiceTitan, Housecall Pro, Jobber, or similar platforms.
- Residential service plumbing experience specifically focused on troubleshooting, repairs, and customer-facing work.
- Experience with tankless water heaters and water treatment systems, including installation and servicing.
- Experience in sewer line diagnostics and repair using modern inspection and cleaning equipment.
- Previous sales or customer communication training, with the ability to ethically upsell solutions based on customer needs.
- Comfort working directly with homeowners and building trust through clear, respectful communication.
- Experience in construction, drainage, industrial plumbing, and piping installations using materials such as cast iron and PVC.
- Skill in reading and working from blueprints and understanding plumbing layouts.
- Customer service-oriented mindset with the ability to close jobs and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Awareness of route efficiency and strong time management skills to optimize daily schedules.
- Ability to maintain clean, organized work habits and manage tools and materials effectively.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $72800.00 - $104000.00/yr.
