Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A pharmacist opportunity is available for overnight shifts at a specialized women's healthcare facility. This 14-week contract position begins mid-May and involves working a 7-on/7-off schedule from 7:30 PM to 7:30 AM. The role supports comprehensive pharmaceutical care across all patient age groups, from newborns to adults, ensuring safe, effective medication management within an inpatient hospital setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the medication-use process by reviewing and verifying orders for appropriateness based on diagnosis, weight, allergies, and drug interactions.
- Accurately enter medication orders into the electronic medical record system (EPIC), maintaining a high standard to prevent medication incidents.
- Ensure timely preparation and delivery of medications, adhering to established guidelines and standards.
- Promote aseptic technique and infection control practices, particularly in sterile product preparation, and support adherence by pharmacy staff.
- Actively identify and resolve potential or actual drug-related problems to enhance patient safety.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years inpatient pharmacy experience; pediatric experience is preferred but not mandatory.
- Valid Texas pharmacist license.
- Current ACPE IV certification.
- Proven knowledge of and compliance with aseptic technique and infection control standards.
