Our client, a fast-growing advisory firm, is seeking their first Tax Leader—a pivotal leadership role for an ambitious tax professional who wants to step beyond the ceiling of a traditional firm and help build something extraordinary.

About the Role

As the inaugural Tax Leader, you’ll have three primary areas of focus:

  1. Lead & Deliver

    • Oversee delivery of tax and bookkeeping services across a growing client base

    • Ensure high-quality, timely work while building strong client relationships

    • Mentor, train, and lead a developing team

  2. Growth Through Acquisition

    • Provide retiring CPAs with confidence that their clients are in trusted hands

    • Help integrate new clients and staff into the firm smoothly and successfully

    • Build long-term relationships that support client retention and growth

  3. Build for the Future

    • Shape workflows, pricing models, org structure, and tech stack to enable scale

    • Streamline busy season—creating systems that protect quality of life

    • Partner with leadership to set the foundation for long-term success

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • 6–7+ years of tax experience, CPA preferred
  • Currently at a Manager or Senior Manager level (or Sr. Accountant ready for the next step)
  • A top performer at their firm but frustrated by limited upward mobility
  • Entrepreneurial and hands-on—excited to help build, not just maintain
  • Interested in leadership and eventual equity partnership
  • Values work-life balance and believes great client service doesn’t require 80-hour weeks
