Our client, a fast-growing advisory firm, is seeking their first Tax Leader—a pivotal leadership role for an ambitious tax professional who wants to step beyond the ceiling of a traditional firm and help build something extraordinary.

About the Role
As the inaugural Tax Leader, you’ll have three primary areas of focus:

Lead & Deliver

Oversee delivery of tax and bookkeeping services across a growing client base

Ensure high-quality, timely work while building strong client relationships

Mentor, train, and lead a developing team

Growth Through Acquisition

Provide retiring CPAs with confidence that their clients are in trusted hands

Help integrate new clients and staff into the firm smoothly and successfully

Build long-term relationships that support client retention and growth

Build for the Future

Shape workflows, pricing models, org structure, and tech stack to enable scale

Streamline busy season—creating systems that protect quality of life

Partner with leadership to set the foundation for long-term success

Ideal Candidate Profile
- 6–7+ years of tax experience, CPA preferred
- Currently at a Manager or Senior Manager level (or Sr. Accountant ready for the next step)
- A top performer at their firm but frustrated by limited upward mobility
- Entrepreneurial and hands-on—excited to help build, not just maintain
- Interested in leadership and eventual equity partnership
- Values work-life balance and believes great client service doesn’t require 80-hour weeks
