JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary/Objective

The Field and Trade Marketing Manager is responsible for driving brand visibility, sales growth, and execution. This role partners closely with the Director of Business Development, Director of Marketing, Director of Market Development, and Director of Wholesaler Development to deliver impactful field programs, strengthen retail execution, and achieve distribution and volume targets.

The Manager will build and maintain strong relationships with key partners, ensuring alignment across sales, marketing, and distribution channels. By executing trade marketing strategies and field initiatives, this role plays a critical part in promoting the Climbing Kites brand and enhancing its presence in both on- and off-premise accounts.

Essential Functions


  • Develop and execute field and trade marketing strategies to drive brand awareness, trial, and sales.

  • Build relationships with local influencers, community partners, and event organizers to strengthen brand presence.

  • Partner with Sales, Marketing, and Distributor teams to align programs with distribution and volume goals.

  • Create annual and quarterly trade marketing calendars, including promotions, samplings, activations, and events.

  • Manage design, distribution, ordering, and tracking of POS materials to ensure effective retail execution.

  • Collaborate with Wholesaler and Market Development Directors to plan and execute brand-building initiatives across On- and Off-Premise accounts.

  • Coordinate and manage consumer engagement events, including festivals, tastings, sponsorships, and trade shows.

  • Establish and enforce merchandising standards through regular market visits and audits.

  • Train distributor and retailer staff on brand standards, product knowledge, and sales techniques.

  • Manage the trade marketing budget, ensuring spend is within limits and delivers ROI.

  • Monitor program effectiveness and ROI using sales data, market feedback, and competitive insights; recommend improvements.

  • Partner with digital and brand marketing teams to extend local activations into consumer-facing platforms.

  • Support Sales in opening new accounts and expanding placements within existing accounts.

  • Ensure all marketing activities comply with federal, state, and local beverage regulations.

  • Maintain strong communication and collaborative relationships with internal teams, distributor partners, retailers, and event organizers.

  • Uphold and promote Climbing Kites’ Core Values, Purpose, and Philosophies.

  • Perform additional duties as needed to support brand growth and market execution.

Qualifications


  1. Self-motivated and able to work independently.

  2. Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license.

  3. Flexible schedule with ability to work evenings and weekends.

  4. Strong organizational, planning, and sales skills.

  5. Minimum 3 years’ experience in CPG or hospitality; beverage wholesaler/supplier experience preferred.

  6. Solid knowledge of the adult beverage industry, retail environment, and consumer trends.

  7. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and/or Google Workspace.

  8. Excellent oral, written, and analytical communication skills.

  9. Skilled in public speaking and presentations.

  10. Willingness to travel frequently.

Preferred Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree required; or 3–5 years of relevant experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Work Environment

This position functions within a professional work environment.

  • Work will primarily occur in a home office, in a vehicle, or out in the field.

  • Regular visits to retail accounts, both on-premise and off-premise, will be necessary.

Physical Demands

Extended periods of sitting at a desk or workstation, typically for 6-8 hours a day. Prolonged exposure to computer screens. Extended periods of standing or sitting as it relates to events. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time administrative and field position estimating 40+ hours of work.
