RN Manager – Labor & Delivery (Family Care Services)
Location: Portsmouth, NH
Type: Full-Time
Pay: $100,000 – $148,000 Annual Salary
Shift & Schedule: Days | Rotating Weekends
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced RN Manager to oversee the daily operations of a Family Care Services department. This leadership role will be responsible for managing Labor & Delivery operations, supporting staff development, driving patient satisfaction initiatives, ensuring clinical excellence, and maintaining operational and fiscal accountability.
Responsibilities
• Manage daily operations of the Labor & Delivery and Family Care Services unit.
• Coordinate staffing, scheduling, patient flow, admissions, and discharges.
• Partner with clinical coordinators and providers to ensure exceptional patient care.
• Lead recruitment, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and retention initiatives.
• Conduct employee evaluations, coaching, performance improvement plans, and staff development activities.
• Perform patient and family rounding to improve satisfaction and care outcomes.
• Collaborate with clinical leaders to develop and maintain staff competencies and education programs.
• Monitor compliance with nursing standards, regulatory requirements, and quality initiatives.
• Conduct audits, monitor performance metrics, and support continuous improvement efforts.
• Assist with departmental budgeting, resource allocation, and operational planning.
• Manage supply utilization and ensure adequate clinical resources are available.
• Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and patient-centered care.
Required Qualifications
• Active New Hampshire RN License or Compact RN License.
• Minimum 3 years of Labor & Delivery clinical experience in an acute care setting.
• Minimum 3 years of Labor & Delivery leadership experience as a Charge Nurse, Coordinator, Supervisor, Assistant Manager, or Manager.
• Strong knowledge of maternal-child nursing, patient safety, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and staff development skills.
Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or related healthcare degree.
• Experience managing Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, Nursery, or Women's Services departments.
• Experience with budgeting, staffing, and operational oversight.
• Experience leading patient satisfaction and quality improvement initiatives.
