We are seeking an innovative and experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team and lead the design, development, and optimization of cutting-edge mechanical systems. With a proven track record in delivering complex projects on time and within budget, you will play a pivotal role in driving technical excellence in a collaborative environment.

What you’ll do:

  • Drive continuous improvement efforts in product safety, product quality, production processes and cost reduction.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to work directly with customers, ensuring new and evolving customer requirements are understood and new products, technologies and custom engineered solutions are successfully implemented at strategic customers and across NA markets.
  • Design, layout and develop engineered solutions for customers in NA market.
  • Support the implementation of new or modified products, processes, and equipment in manufacturing; support the training of the manufacturing and service teams.
  • Create and contribute to the creation of new concepts and system designs including specification documents.
  • Troubleshoot and fault find machine issues to identify component or design failures, proposing solutions when required.
  • Evaluate designs for compliance to applicable standards and carry out or participate in machine risk assessments.
  • Create, maintain and communicate project plans assisting to resolve slippages and conflicts.
  • Liaise independently with other internal departments, external suppliers and customers to identify and resolve issues and potential improvements.
  • Conduct and document design reviews, prototype builds, in-house and/or field tests for new or redesigned products, and custom engineered solutions designing tests and drafting report findings.

What you need to be successful:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or an equivalent combination of work and experience.
  • Demonstrable experience working in a senior engineering role.
  • Development and troubleshooting on industrial machinery.
  • Exposure to the full system development lifecycle.
  • Project Management.
  • Proficient leading technical and non-technical staff from other departments and companies to resolve issues and deliver solutions in a timely manner.
  • Able to translate customer requirements into specifications and evaluate design solutions against those customer requirements.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and oral and written communications skills.
  • Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with the mechanical design of small scale automated industrial machines.
  • Proficient with design for manufacture and assembly to suit small batch manufacturing methods.
  • Perform a range of standard engineering calculations.
  • Proficient with 2D and 3D CAD, drafting design documentation.
  • Able to interpret and apply applicable regulations and standards.
  • Proficient with MS Office or similar applications, including spread sheets, word processing, email and presentations.
  • Willing to take ownership of projects and issues and maintain focus seeing through to timely completion.
  • Must be able to handle increasing levels of responsibility and project complexity.
  • Able to take initiative to solve problems and find creative solutions.
  • Must be able to work with both technical and non-technical staff from other departments and companies to resolve issues, deliver improved products, and/or performance.
  • Able to travel up to 15% with periodic evening and overnight assignments, including domestic and international locations.
  • Valid driver’s licence.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • $80,0000 - $110,000 / year, depending on qualifications
