Overview of the Role
This position involves delivering nursing care by formulating nursing diagnoses, setting care objectives, defining interventions, and providing comprehensive support—physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual—to patients, families, and friends. You will also monitor changing conditions and needs, and reassess care objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver patient care by reviewing physician orders, communicating the nursing care plan, and coordinating with other healthcare professionals. Provide holistic support to patients and their families while consulting with physicians.
- Create nursing care plans by gathering medical histories, examining patients, documenting their physical and psychological conditions, and discussing with family members. Establish nursing diagnoses, objectives, and intervention schedules.
- Educate patients and their families about healthcare needs by setting care goals, explaining conditions, medications, and self-care skills, and providing resources and answers to questions.
- Assess patient care by adhering to therapeutic standards, measuring health outcomes, reviewing records, and adjusting care plans as necessary.
- Ensure a safe and healthy patient care environment by following infection control protocols, medication administration guidelines, and legal regulations, while alerting others to potential issues.
- Document patient care services accurately in departmental records.
- Maintain patient care equipment by following operational guidelines, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring supplies are stocked and maintained.
- Manage patient care supplies by monitoring inventory, anticipating needs, placing orders, and verifying receipt.

Required Education, Licensure/Certification, or Experience:
- Registered Nurse (RN) - Must possess an active license from the Board of Nursing in the state of practice upon hire.
Preferred Education, Licensure/Certification, or Experience:
- Experience in a clinical setting.
