Microbiologist within Medical Device

Description:
The Microbiologist in this role is responsible for ensuing microbiological quality of the completed device. This includes providing technical support for the facility as it pertains to environmental monitoring and microbiological methods, routine and non routine specification investigations, environmental disturbance reports, and annual controlled access environment reports, routine release of manufactured product, and data analysis of sterilization process.
Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze routine microbiological test records.
- Provide technical support for facility issues related to environmental monitoring and microbiological methods.
- Develop microbiological specifications for incoming components
- Conduct investigations for out-of-specification (OOS) results.
- Develop and execute qualifications for controlled access environments, DI water, and compressed air systems.
- Assess manufacturing process changes for microbial impact.
- Complete environmental disturbance reports and annual controlled access environment reports.
- Sterilization and Laboratory Methods Support
- Support routine release of manufactured products through microbiological and sterilization data analysis.
- Write protocols and reports for sterilization and microbiological method qualifications.
- Provide technical training to laboratory technicians on new equipment and test procedures.
- Deliver training on sterilization validation and processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support company initiatives and continuous improvement.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- 5years of experience in medical device or pharmaceutical industry with a Bachelors Degree
- 2 years of experience in medical device or pharmaceutical industry with a Master's Degree
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
