Job Purpose:
Our company is looking for an experienced Staff Accountant to assist with our day-to-day accounting and finance requirements. Staff Accountant to maintain records of financial transactions and as well as posting transactions. Ideal candidates will have over two years’ experience with QuickBooks and a strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles. Additionally, all candidates must pass a nationwide, criminal background check.
Responsibilities:
- Prepares reconciliation of all bank accounts in QuickBooks
- Prepare and reconcile monthly credit card statements
- Audit and fulfill travel and expense reimbursement reports
- Prepare and reconcile certain balance sheet accounts (Bank, Unbilled, AR, AP, Fixed Assets, Prepaids)
- Research and propose recommended solutions to open items on balance sheet reconciliations
- Resolve collections and coordinate contact for customer payment plans, payment history, and credit lines
- Prepare Florida Sales and Use tax returns
- Manage inventory from purchase orders, to invoicing to QB count management – does not include shipping of inventory to end customer
- Maintain and initiate payments from customers via ACH – TruistOneView/Truist platform
- Compile and maintain monthly P&L statements from all franchisees for KPI reporting
- Provide basic accounting/QuickBooks support to franchisees if necessary
- Assist Controller with annual accounting requirements (audit, tax returns, 1099’s)
- Ad hoc requests as assigned
Requirements:
- 1 - 2 years of experience in a Junior or Staff Accountant role and minimum of 3 years accounting experience
- Degree in Accounting preferred
- Experience with QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online
- Must have strong to advanced Excel skills (formulas, graphing, conditional formatting, etc.)
- Basic knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Basic understanding of the technical aspects of account analyses and financial statements
- Must be able to reconcile accounts and be able to perform GL analysis
- Ability to set priorities, multi-task, meet critical deadlines
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work independently
- Highly organized and motivated self-starter with good interpersonal communication skills
- Reporting to the Controller, this position will be responsible for performing a variety of accounting tasks and financial reporting
