Recently, East Moline Glass joined AGS American Glass Services (AGS), a multi-regional provider of custom glass, panels, contract glazing, and specialty solutions. AGS was formed through strategic acquisitions, including East Moline Glass, and is focused on serving diverse markets such as education, government, healthcare, office, and retail.
Position Summary
The Controller is responsible for planning, directing, and overseeing all accounting operations of the company. This includes managing financial reporting, budgeting, compliance, and departmental operations to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and alignment with business goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Oversee daily operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general accounting, and financial reporting.

Maintain and update documented accounting policies and procedures, ensuring strong internal controls to minimize risk.

Oversee preparation of periodic financial reports, ensuring compliance with GAAP.

Recommend and monitor benchmarks to measure company performance.

Develop the annual budget and forecasts; analyze and report significant variances to management.

Provide financial analysis to support capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.

Manage organizational cash flow and forecasting.

Coordinate with external auditors and provide required documentation for the annual audit.

Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

Update and improve business policies, accounting practices, and departmental procedures.

Promote and maintain a safe work environment.

Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent experience required.

Seven or more years of related experience required.

CPA or CMA designation preferred.

Strong management and supervisory skills.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Highly organized with effective time management abilities.

Quick learner, adaptable to change.

Knowledge of construction project accounting (percentage of completion).

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, etc.).

Familiarity with ComputerEase software preferred.
