Position Summary
As a Business Development Representative (BDR) at Whim Event Rentals (WER), you will play a critical role in driving revenue growth by prospecting, generating leads, and closing orders for our special event rental products and temporary tent structures. You’ll focus on identifying new opportunities, cultivating relationships, and converting leads into sales, while collaborating closely with peers, operations, Inside Sales Associates, and marketing teams to meet and exceed sales targets.
Key Responsibilities
Prospecting & Lead Generation

Identify and research potential customers within the WER service area.

Generate leads through prospecting, email campaigns, social media, and networking.

Manage prospect reports and lead follow-up to ensure opportunities are pursued.

Qualify leads to confirm alignment with WER’s product offerings and objectives.
Sales Development

Engage with prospects to understand needs and pain points.

Present and explain WER’s product solutions effectively.

Develop tailored pricing proposals in Point of Rentals quoting system.

Participate in industry events and networking opportunities.

Support value proposition efforts to communicate the benefits of WER solutions.
Sales Growth

Execute a strategic sales plan to achieve and exceed targets.

Dedicate ~50% of time to outbound prospecting; remainder on account development, site visits, and in-person prospecting.

Prioritize customers, industries, and markets to maximize growth.

Maintain a strong pipeline and convert opportunities into closed sales.

Pursue both large-scale projects and transactional opportunities with a focus on turnkey event solutions.
Customer Relationship Management

Maintain and update CRM with accurate lead and customer data.

Follow up consistently to nurture relationships and advance prospects through the funnel.

Deliver outstanding customer service to ensure satisfaction and repeat business.

Align all customer interactions with company core values.

Ensure contracts, indemnities, and releases are executed properly.

Confirm orders with client signatures and secure payments per contractual terms.
Market Analysis

Stay up to date on industry trends, competitor offerings, and market conditions.

Partner with Inside Sales Associates to support client meetings and technical needs.
Reporting & Analysis

Track and report KPIs, including lead generation, conversion rates, and overall sales performance.

Provide feedback to leadership on market conditions, customer needs, and process improvements.

Participate in sales meetings and strategy development.
Team Collaboration

Work cross-functionally with operations, logistics, and support teams to ensure seamless project execution.

Mentor and support Inside Sales Associates, fostering collaboration, growth, and team success.
