Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education, active DHH teaching certification, and 1+ years Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A full-time teaching opportunity is available for a licensed Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing serving students across grades K12. This role requires an active Tennessee Department of Education (DOE) certification and involves a standard 37.5-hour workweek.
Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction and support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing in grades K5, 68, and 912.
- Develop and implement individualized educational programs tailored to each students needs.
- Collaborate with school staff, families, and related service providers to ensure comprehensive support.
- Potentially serve in an itinerant capacity, traveling between locations to accommodate students' schedules.
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records of educational outcomes.
Qualifications:
- Active Tennessee DOE certification in teaching Deaf/Hard of Hearing students.
- Experience working with a range of grade levels from elementary through high school.
- Strong knowledge of specialized instructional strategies and communication methods.
- Ability to manage a flexible schedule to meet individual student needs.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
