Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor & Delivery (L&D)
Location: Neptune, New Jersey
Job Type: Contract

Assignment Details

  • Duration: 13 Weeks (with possibility of extension)

  • Schedule: 3 × 10-Hour Shifts

  • Shift: Day or Night Shift

Compensation

  • Local Rate: $2,000 – $2,200 per week (based on experience)

  • Travel Rate: $2,500 – $2,700 per week (based on experience)

Position Summary

A healthcare facility in Neptune, NJ is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor & Delivery for a contract assignment. The RN will provide comprehensive, patient-centered care to mothers and newborns while supporting physicians and the obstetrics team during labor, delivery, and postpartum care.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to evidence-based nursing practices.

Responsibilities

  • Assess and monitor maternal and fetal conditions throughout labor and delivery

  • Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans based on patient assessments and physician orders

  • Perform therapeutic nursing interventions to support safe labor and delivery outcomes

  • Monitor and document patient progress, vital signs, and fetal monitoring data

  • Provide direct bedside nursing care during labor, delivery, and recovery

  • Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary healthcare teams to manage patient care

  • Educate patients and families regarding labor processes, postpartum care, and newborn care

  • Advocate for evidence-based practice and high-quality patient care standards

  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation according to healthcare regulations and facility protocols

  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support patient care and unit operations

Required Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 1 year of Labor & Delivery (L&D) nursing experience

  • Strong clinical assessment and patient care skills

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced maternity unit

Education Requirements

  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN) from an accredited nursing program

Required Certifications & Licensure

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) License – New Jersey or Multi-State Compact License

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association

  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
