The Education Summer Camp Intern will co-teach, coordinate and/or assist in the preparation and delivery of summer camp programming under the direction of the Education Manager. The Intern will successfully coordinate and conduct classes with the teacher and summer camp groups while actively contributing to the teams overall success. This is a Seasonal, paid internship position.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
· Co-teach or assist, as assigned, with summer programs and camp curriculum
· Prepare and maintain materials, hands-outs, teacher tools and supplies related to camps assigned to assist and/or co-teach
· Maintain rooms in which camps use, including preparing and cleaning as directed by lead teachers, manager and/or director
· Attend scheduled trainings and meetings
· Assist in camp entrance and dismissal, as assigned
· Cordially greet parents and children
· Monitor children’s safety at all times
· Assist and perform other camp duties, as needed and assigned
Requirements:
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
· High school diploma or equivalent
· Completed freshmen year at a college or university
· Clear written and oral communication
· Ability to pass pre-employment requirements including background check and drug screening.
KEY COMPETENCIES:
· Previous experience in classes or camps for children ages 4-13
· Manage multiple tasks with attention to detail and accuracy; organized
· Problem analysis and problem solving skills; good independent judgment
· Punctual and enthusiastic
· Stand/walk for extended periods of time
