Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A Special Education Teacher position is available for the current school year at a middle school in Paterson, NJ. This contract role offers the opportunity to work with a diverse caseload, supporting inclusion and co-taught classrooms in a single building setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction to middle school students with special education needs.
- Collaborate closely with general education teachers to implement inclusive classroom strategies.
- Develop and adapt Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to student needs.
- Monitor student progress and maintain thorough documentation.
- Participate in team meetings and communicate effectively with families and staff.
Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification.
- Experience working with middle school students, particularly in inclusion or co-teaching environments.
- Strong knowledge of special education laws, instructional strategies, and IEP development.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to manage a caseload and maintain organized records.
Location: Paterson, NJ (Middle School)
Contract Details:
- Duration: January 15 to June 15
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:55 AM to 3:05 PM
- Caseload: Middle School, inclusion/co-taught classrooms
- Single building assignment
