  • Location: Valdez, Alaska (99686) – Valdez OT job in a scenic coastal community, ideal for Alaska travel OT and outdoor enthusiasts.\n
  • Assignment Type: Travel Contract (Travel Occupational Therapist / Travel OT)\n
  • Duration: 13 weeks (May 18, 2026 – August 17, 2026)\n
  • Setting: Primarily outpatient pediatric population; also serves hospital (inpatient & swing bed), long-term care (LTC/SNF), and outpatient rehab\n
  • Shift: Day shifts, 5x8-hour days (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM)\n
  • Hours: 40 hours/week (Guaranteed 70 hours per 2 weeks; may be called off for one 10-hour shift per 2 weeks)\n
  • Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,060 – $2,210\n
  • Housing & Vehicle: Facility-provided housing (typically 1-bedroom apartment) and shared-use vehicle included\n
  • Patient Population: Pediatrics-focused outpatient with opportunities in acute care, swing bed, and LTC patients\n

\n\nJob Requirements\n

  • Minimum 1 year of recent Occupational Therapy experience; prior travel OT experience required\n
  • Active OT license in Alaska required (pending Alaska license accepted)\n
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required\n
  • Experience across outpatient, acute care, LTC/SNF, and pediatrics preferred\n
  • Prior pediatric and inpatient OT experience strongly preferred\n
  • Proficiency with standardized assessments, developmental testing/treatment, and functional activities\n
  • Epic charting experience preferred (electronic medical record experience helpful)\n
  • Availability to work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year)\n
  • Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility (no local candidates accepted)\n
  • References: Minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year within the last 3 years\n

\n\nResponsibilities\n

  • Provide high-quality occupational therapy services to a largely outpatient pediatric population and to inpatient, swing bed, and LTC patients as needed\n
  • Conduct evaluations, complete standardized assessments, and develop individualized treatment plans\n
  • Implement treatment interventions focused on developmental, sensory, functional, and ADL goals\n
  • Transition seamlessly between outpatient, inpatient, and long-term care settings\n
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (PT, SLP, nurses, physicians, case managers) to optimize patient outcomes\n
  • Document patient progress and maintain accurate records using Epic or other EMR systems (Epic preferred)\n
  • Educate patients and families on therapy goals, home programs, adaptive equipment, safety, and injury prevention\n
  • Participate in department meetings and contribute to a positive, team-oriented culture\n
