Light Counseling seeks a motivated and detail-oriented Human Resources Assitant (Intern) to support our recruitment and onboarding efforts within a mental health organization. This role is ideal for students or recent graduates seeking hands-on human resources experience while contributing to a meaningful mission. The intern will assist in recruiting, onboarding new hires, and supporting general HR functions as assigned by the Business Director.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Recruitment & Hiring Support:
- Assist with job postings across multiple platforms, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
- Screen resumes and conduct initial candidate outreach to schedule interviews.
- Coordinate interview logistics and communicate with candidates and hiring managers.
- Support reference checks and background screening processes.
Onboarding & Employee Integration:
- Assist in preparing and organizing onboarding documents, including offer letters and new hire paperwork.
- Ensure new employees complete required training and compliance documentation.
- Support the onboarding process by coordinating introductions, orientation sessions, and follow-ups.
HR Administrative Support:
- Maintain and update HR databases, tracking applicant and employee records securely.
- Assist with employee engagement initiatives, including wellness programs and team-building activities.
- Support compliance with HR policies, employment laws, and best practices.
- Perform other HR-related tasks as assigned by the Business Director.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and familiarity with HR software is a plus.
- Interest in mental health and healthcare administration is preferred.
