Exciting opportunity for a dedicated professional to provide specialized educational support in an elementary setting. This long-term substitute position is designed for a skilled Special Education Teacher ready to make a meaningful impact by filling a leave of absence from April 30, 2025, until the end of the school year.
Qualifications:
- Valid Rhode Island Department of Education certification as a secondary special educator
- National BCI clearance with fingerprints
- Certified or willing to obtain certification in SafetyCare
- Experience working with elementary-aged students in a special education capacity
- Strong munication and collaboration skills
Location: Portsmouth, RI
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with diverse learning needs
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and support staff to create an inclusive learning environment
- Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies to ensure effective learning
- municate regularly with students, parents, and guardians regarding academic and behavioral expectations
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and IEP documentation
- Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities as required
