Job Description

About the Role

We’re looking for a seasoned Subcontracts professional who thrives on variety, problem-solving, and collaboration. In this role, you’ll be the key point of contact for the full subcontract life cycle—from teaming strategies and negotiations to day-to-day administration and supplier performance oversight. You’ll partner closely with operations and cross-functional leaders to make sure our subcontracting approach is strategic, compliant, and driving value for our customers.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead the end-to-end subcontracting process, including:
  • Proposal support, NDAs, and teaming agreements
  • Solicitation development, proposal evaluation, and cost/price analysis
  • Negotiating terms and conditions and awarding subcontracts
  • Administration, performance management, and closeout activities
  • Partner with sector leadership to shape competition and negotiation strategies that balance compliance with operational needs.
  • Translate prime contract requirements into clear subcontractor deliverables by reviewing awards and flowing down clauses efficiently.
  • Act as the bridge between suppliers and internal teams, resolving issues quickly and collaboratively.
  • Monitor supplier performance, track compliance, and ensure timely delivery of critical goods and services.
  • Support Contractor Purchasing System Review (CPSR) readiness and maintain accurate, audit-ready subcontract files.
  • Provide proactive advice and solutions to leadership on procurement challenges and opportunities.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of subcontract experience (or Master’s with 6+ years; equivalent experience accepted).
  • Proven success in subcontract negotiation, administration, and supplier performance management.
  • Strong working knowledge of FAR/DFARS and CPSR compliance.
  • Hands-on experience with Deltek Costpoint and proposal support.
  • Excellent relationship-building skills, with the confidence to engage executives and represent subcontracting strategies.
  • Sharp analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities—both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, etc.), plus the organizational skills to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Bonus Points If You…

  • Have a knack for spotting opportunities to streamline processes or save costs.
  • Enjoy bringing order to complex challenges and thrive on collaboration across departments.
