Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This hospital-wide float nursing position offers the opportunity to deliver compassionate, high-quality care across multiple clinical areas including Emergency Room, Intensive Care Unit, Progressive Care Unit, Medical-Surgical, and Behavioral Health (adult acute, youth acute, and addiction recovery). Serving as a critical member of the Nursing Resource Team, you will apply your expertise in diverse patient populations, adapting to a fast-paced environment while fostering collaborative relationships with patients, families, and inter-professional teams.

Key Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years recent experience across ER, ICU, PCU, Medical-Surgical, AND Behavioral Health/Psych units (adult, youth acute, addiction recovery)
  • Proficient with cardiac drips and non-invasive ventilation management
  • Graduate of a nationally accredited nursing program (BSN highly preferred)
  • Current RN license in Idaho or compact state
  • Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS); Restraint C and MOAB training provided during orientation
  • Ability to manage patient care efficiently in a variety of settings with solid time management skills
  • Comfortable with 12-hour shifts, including every other weekend

Responsibilities:

  • Provide relationship-based, culturally competent nursing care adhering to the Idaho Nurse Practice Act and hospital protocols
  • Assess, plan, implement, and document nursing interventions effectively for assigned patients
  • Assist physicians with examinations and procedures, administer medications, and perform diagnostic tests within RN scope
  • Promote patient independence through education on conditions, medications, and self-care skills
  • Float flexibly between units based on clinical needs while maintaining high standards of care continuity
  • Maintain professional and predictable attendance

Schedule:

  • 12-hour shifts (0700-1930 or 1900-0730)
  • Schedule varies by unit demands, with notification provided before shifts; float assignments may occur mid-shift
