Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
An immediate opportunity is available for experienced Special Education teachers to provide full-time, on-site instruction in self-contained classrooms serving students from kindergarten through 12th grade. This role involves working with students diagnosed with Emotional Behavior Disorder (EBD), intellectual disabilities, and Autism Spectrum Disorder, across multiple elementary and secondary school locations in East and West Pasco County, Florida.
Responsibilities include maintaining and stabilizing challenging behaviors while delivering tailored curriculum instruction to small classes of 4-5 students, collaborating with behavior specialists and instructional assistants. Candidates will be responsible for writing IEPs and supporting Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs), with CPI training provided to enhance skills in managing student behaviors.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Florida Educators Certificate appropriate for K-6 elementary or K-12 secondary education in Exceptional Student Education.
- Bachelors degree in Exceptional Student Education or related field.
- Proven experience teaching in self-contained special education settings.
- Strong skills in behavior management and curriculum delivery.
- Proficiency in IEP development and behavior plan implementation.
- Comfortable working with a diverse age range and disabilities.
- Successful completion of fingerprinting and eligibility to receive a JLA badge for on-site work.
This position requires a full-time commitment based on the schools academic calendar, typically encompassing 35-37.5 hours per week with standard 7 to 7.5 hour days. The assignment begins as soon as possible and extends through May 29, 2026.
