Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A full-time Special Education teaching opportunity is available in Aurora, CO, for a contract period beginning ASAP through March 2, 2026, with potential extension pending. This position requires a CDE Special Education License with a Generalist Endorsement (grades 5-21). Candidates must hold a Professional Teacher License that explicitly reads Endorsed In: Special Education Generalist (5-21). Applications from travelers, substitute, temporary, or interim licenses will only be considered if the appropriate SPED license with endorsement has already been applied for and proof is provided.
Location details will be determined, and the role is onsite only; virtual or hybrid work arrangements are not available. This position demands a thorough understanding of Special Education instruction, including strategies for Specially Designed Instruction and supporting students on alternative standards. Experience with the IEP process is critical, along with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary IEP teams.
Key Qualifications:
- Professional Colorado Special Education License with Generalist Endorsement (5-21)
- Deep knowledge of Special Education instructional practices and strategies
- Extensive experience with IEP development and the educational needs of students on alternative standards
- Strong collaboration skills within multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to articulate teaching experience comprehensively during interviews
Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized Specially Designed Instruction aligned with IEP goals
- Collaborate with educators, therapists, and families to support student progress
- Monitor and document student performance and progress accurately
- Participate fully in the IEP development and review process
