Day to day processing of small parts and/or freight shipments. Load and unload products properly, and direct truck drivers for deliveries. Every shipment arrives on time and within budget. Monitor outgoing and incoming shipping activities to verify items are shipping to the correct location and in good condition. Make sure weights are correctly posted, that correct charges are applied, and that shipments are moved from shipping points to storage areas and resolve issues with shipping orders. In addition to the shipping responsibilities, you will be responsible for coordinating the day-to-day tasks of the receiving department and general warehouse duties.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure safe and efficient picking, preparing, loading, and unloading of all small parts and/or freight and ensures accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments.
- Prepare documents for shipping and receiving. Maintains shipping and receiving records. Documents all actions in computer systems; Processes bills of lading; General file maintenance; Organizes delivery appointments, scheduling of trucks and container pick-ups.
- Provides shipping information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing shipping schedules and data, answering questions, and responding to requests.
- Schedule the necessary trucking to ensure timely delivery of orders to our customers.
- Maintains clean and orderly work area and ensures that all interfaces with the company are treated to a high level of customer service.
- Forklift operation to move packages to staging area when necessary.
- Reports any order discrepancies or any other issues to immediate supervisor.
- Prepares reports as required for internal monitoring purposes.
- Assure consistent achievement of quality standards.
- Responsible for all Domestic and International receivers.
- Conducts full equipment physical/functional inspections according to the Receiving policies and procedures.
- Review documentation to ensure completeness of receipts and that missing or inaccurate information is documented and followed up on.
- Inventory control and cycle counting.
- Communicate closely with supervisors via remote sites, using photos, videos, and video phones.
- Share the situation at monthly reviews and meetings.
- Performs any other related duties as assigned by supervisor.
