Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Emergency Department Registered Nurse (ED RN) to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a critical understanding of emergency services, ensuring high-quality, compassionate care in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Care:
- Conduct initial and continuous assessments of patients' physical and emotional health.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed and monitor patient responses, adjusting care plans as needed.
- Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and follow-up care.
- Emergency Response:
- Efficiently triage patients based on the severity of illness or injury.
- Assist in resuscitation, stabilization, and advanced life support during emergencies.
- Operate and maintain emergency equipment, including defibrillators and ventilators.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, and healthcare team members to ensure coordinated care.
- Clearly communicate patient status, changes, and care plans to team members and families.
- Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and case discussions.
- Compliance and Safety:
- Adhere to established protocols, policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate documentation in electronic medical records (EMR).
- Promote a safe environment for patients and staff by following infection control and safety protocols.
- Professional Development:
- Engage in continuing education and training to stay current with best practices.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to departmental performance metrics.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Ohio.
- Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required.
- Additional certifications such as PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC are preferred.
- Experience:
- A minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in an emergency department or critical care setting is required.
- Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills.
Working Conditions:
This role requires a fast-paced environment, demanding physical stamina and emotional resilience. Nurses will frequently stand, walk, and lift patients or equipment, while also facing exposure to infectious diseases and hazardous materials.
