We are looking for an experienced Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Corona, California. In this role, you will oversee financial management for multiple projects, ensuring accuracy and compliance in all accounting processes. This position requires a strong background in construction and project accounting, along with proficiency in accounting software and tools.
Responsibilities:
• Perform bank reconciliations and manage journal entries for multiple project accounts.
• Oversee financial reporting, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and tax liability documentation.
• Handle all accounting functions for assigned projects, including reviewing escrow proceeds and daily sales escrow closings.
• Generate comprehensive job cost reports for each project and entity.
• Process vendor invoices and subcontractor payments accurately and within designated timelines.
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations by collecting and tracking necessary documents.
• Collaborate with project teams to address inquiries related to project costs and revenue.
• Conduct monthly reviews and adjustments of job costs and revenue budgets to ensure accuracy and profitability.
• Monitor cash flow and prepare loan funding analyses to determine sufficiency and equity requirements.
• Assist in resolving projected funding shortfalls by working closely with senior accounting staff.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years’ experience in project accounting, preferably within the construction industry.
• Proficiency in electronic accounting systems, such as Newstar.
• Advanced skills in managing general ledgers, journal entries, and accounting reconciliations.
• Strong ability to prepare budgets, financial forecasts, and tax reports.
• Extensive experience in project invoicing, billing, and compliance.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments.
