Blazer Jobs is seeking a dedicated Teacher for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing to join our team and provide essential specialized instruction and support to students in schools across Wilmington, DE. This role is vital in fostering an inclusive and productive learning environment where Deaf and Hard of Hearing students can thrive academically and socially.
Key Responsibilities:

Work closely with students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing to provide direct instruction, classroom support, and individualized learning plans.

Develop and implement lesson plans and instructional activities tailored to students unique communication and academic needs.

Use a variety of communication methods, including American Sign Language (ASL) and assistive technology, to support student learning and interaction.

Monitor student progress and adapt instructional strategies as needed.

Collaborate with general education teachers, speech therapists, audiologists, and families to support student success.

Assist students with mobility, personal care, or adaptive equipment as necessary.

Maintain accurate records of student performance and progress in compliance with state regulations.

Uphold a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment.
Requirements:

Valid Delaware teaching certification in Teacher of Students Who Are Deaf or Hard of Hearing (Standard Certificate: 1571) or equivalent.

Bachelors or Masters degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or related field.

Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) preferred.

Experience working with Deaf and Hard of Hearing students in K-12 educational settings.

Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to meet Delaware state requirements for educators working with special populations.
