Job Summary:
Production Supervisor directly supervisors and assigns personnel within the Production Department. Coordinate production activity in a manner that results in the production of quality products in a safe manner.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain a safe and productive work environment and ensure employees follow all safety policies and procedures.
- Successfully lead shift production team to meet/exceed budget.
- Record and track both hourly production and associated downtime root causes.
- Ensure shift production team is properly trained, understand accountabilities and equipped for success.
- Work effectively with production team to resolve personnel issues while partnering with Plant Management.
- Seek ways to improve equipment productivity and efficiency: yield, rate, and uptime.
- Notify Lead Maintenance Technician of any equipment related issues or problems.
- Notify site Management of any production related issues or problems.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
- Responsible for managing the disciplinary process of supervisors and production employees.
- Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but can be loud when in the production area.
- Working near moving mechanical parts.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 70 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust focus.
- Frequently required to sit, stand, walk; use hands to handle or feel, and talk or hear; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, climb or crawl.
- Work in extreme cold and heat weather conditions
Skills and Abilities:
- Minimum of 5 years production shift lead experience in a manufacturing /industrial environment is required.
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Mechanical aptitude is required.
- Forklift and Skid Steer experience is preferred.
- Ability to effectively communicate with all employees in the facility, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to solve problems in a timely, professional manner
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize and respond with appropriate sense of urgency
- Excellent detail, organizational and follow-through skills
- Understanding of OSHA regulations and implementation of safety regulations
- Strong willingness to work hard, reliable, attentive and attention to detail
- Bi-lingual in English and Spanish preferred.
Education and Experience:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field is a plus.
- Experience: 3-5 years’ prior experience in a manufacturing or production environment is required.
Compensation:
- $65,000 - $70,000. annually. Paid bi-weekly.
