Job Description

Must have completed Behavior Specialist / ABA Therapy training and have a minimum 1+ years Behavior Therapy experience. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Providing support to an elementary student requiring specialized behavioral intervention, this full-time role is ideal for a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) with active licensure. The position focuses on implementing behavior plans, fostering academic progress, and working in close collaboration with special education staff within an elementary school setting in the Virginia Beach area.

Key responsibilities include:

Delivering one-on-one support to a student with aggressive behaviors by implementing the Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP) and additional behavior supports.
Assisting in escorting the student safely during transitions to and from unstructured settings such as hallways and recess.
Collecting and maintaining accurate data on behavioral and academic progress.
Collaborating directly with the special education teacher to ensure consistency in interventions and educational strategies.

Qualifications and desired experience:

Active Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) licensure is required.
Experience working with elementary-age students in special education settings is highly valued.
Strong ability to handle aggressive behaviors in a calm and effective manner.
Ability to work full-time (37 hours per week) on a contract basis from ASAP through 6/16/26.
