Requirements:
Job Title: Transportation Driver I (CDL)
Department: Transportation
Status: Seasonal (FT & PT)
Reporting To: Manager of Transportation
Position Overview:
Powder Mountain is seeking professional drivers for transportation services related to resort activities. These activities include transportation of our neighbors, guests, & team members safely with a smile. We are looking for Big-Hearted Champions to go above and beyond in providing the best guest service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safe operation of shuttles and transportation vehicles in severe winter weather conditions, specifically on steep, unpaved, or challenging mountain inclines and descents
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections, accurately documenting vehicle condition and promptly reporting any mechanical issues to management
- Participate in and contribute to departmental training sessions and safety briefings, helping to develop and implement new initiatives
- Timely reporting of all on mountain hazards, route challenges and vehicle issues or deficiencies
- Provide exemplary, proactive guest service, providing resort information, anticipating needs and exceeding expectations for all passengers
- Execute pick-ups and drop-offs for "Neighbors" (on-mountain residents/guests) and other assigned routes efficiently, utilizing the mobile dispatch application for navigation, scheduling, and accurate record-keeping
- Professionally assist guests with boarding vehicles, ensuring their safety and comfort. This includes providing physical assistance as needed and securing any specialized gear or luggage (e.g., ski/snowboard equipment, strollers).Participate in and contribute to departmental training sessions and safety briefings
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements and/or Qualifications:
- At least 21 years of age
- Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory Driving Record
- Previous professional driving experience with a clean driving record
- Previous driving experience in winter weather conditions on steep inclines
- Active CDL Class B or Class C w/Passenger & Air Brake Endorsement Preferred, (We provide paid CDL training)
- Flexible schedule: work occasional overtime, weekends, and holidays as requested
- High School Diploma or GED Required
- Basic knowledge of 2-way radio and mobile device use
- Ability to clearly communicate in English
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit for long periods of time
- Excellent vision and ability to drive at night
- Frequent and repetitive motion getting in/out of vehicles
- Ability to lift 50lbs.
Working Environment:
As a transportation driver you'll operate in a dynamic winter environment. You'll consistently face challenging snow, ice, slush, and reduced visibility from blizzards or fog. Roads are steep, winding, narrow and can be slippery. Ground conditions vary and can be icy, snowy or muddy.
CDL Positions will be required to register with the FMCSA Drug and Alcohol ClearingHouse. Candidates will be required to submit to a pre-employment screen and occasional random screenings as required by FMCSA.
