Role Overview:
Join the Operational Excellene team within Veranova for a dynamic summer internship. Our program consists of a 10–12-week internship at our Devens, MA location. This internship offers hands-on experience in driving sitewide improvement initiatives, designing operational workflows, and leveraging data-driven insights to enhance efficiency and effectiveness across the organization.
The ideal candidate will have an academic background in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or Project Management, and a strong interest in continuous improvement methodologies. This role is designed for individuals who are curious, creative, resilient, and solution-oriented, with a passion for problem-solving and process optimization.
Core Responsibilities:
- Lead and support sitewide improvement initiatives to optimize processes and reduce waste.
- Design and document operational workflows that align with best practices and business objectives.
- Develop and utilize data analytics to identify trends, measure performance, and inform decision-making.
- Manage and track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to monitor progress and drive accountability.
- Assist in the development and deployment of business intelligence tools to enhance visibility and reporting.
- Prepare and deliver presentations to executive leadership, summarizing findings, recommendations, and project outcomes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for efficiency and implement sustainable solutions.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement through engagement, communication, and training.
- Utilize Lean principles and data-driven methodologies to drive measurable improvements.
Qualifications:
Required
- Currently pursuing a degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Project Management, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in data analysis tools (Excel, Power BI, etc.).
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred
- Familiarity with SQL, DAX, or other programming languages for data analysis and automation.
- Working knowledge of Lean Six Sigma principles and methodologies.
- Understanding of business operations, pharmaceutical manufacturing processes, or basic chemistry concepts.
Pay Range: $20 - $22 per hour
