This PRN role for a Registered Nurse at our surgery center focuses on delivering direct patient care, collaborating with various departments, and ensuring the confidentiality of patient information. Candidates must hold an active RN license, ideally with experience in perioperative nursing, along with certifications such as BLS and possibly ACLS or other specialized credentials. The nursing process will be utilized to deliver patient care effectively. You will maintain professional accountability for the care provided to your assigned patients and assess the overall effectiveness of care delivered by other caregivers. Coordination of patient care with other departments is essential, as is the safeguarding of patient rights and confidentiality. Qualifications:
Education: Must be a graduate of an accredited registered nursing program.
Licensure: It is the candidate's responsibility to secure and maintain a current RN license in the state of employment or under compact licensure, fulfilling all state board of nursing requirements.
Physical Requirements:
- Regularly push, pull, or lift up to 50 pounds.
- Prolonged standing and walking are required during each shift.
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform job duties.
Experience:
Preferred candidates will have perioperative experience, with at least two years of RN experience being ideal.
Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or completion of the course within 30 days of hire.
- Additional certifications may be required based on the specific position or unit, including:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course)
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
- CPHON (Certified Pediatric/Hematology/Oncology Nurse)
- OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- PEARS (Pediatric Assessment Recognition and Stabilization)
- S.T.A.B.L.E. (Sugar, Temperature, Airway, Blood Pressure, Lab Work, And Emotional Support)
- C-EFM (Fetal Monitor Certification)
- Other unit-specific certifications as necessary.
