Utah Valley Dental Laboratory is high end nationally recognized lab in the dental industry. We are currently seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Dental Model Room Technician to join our dental laboratory team. In this role, you will beresponsible for producing high-quality dental models from a variety of impressions and digital scans. The successful candidate will have strong organizational skills and excellent manual dexterity.
Duties and responsibilities:

- Case preparation:Manage incoming dental impressions and prescriptions from dental offices, ensuring all materials and instructions are complete and accurate.
- Model creation:
- Pouring:Pour dental stone or plaster into dental impressions to create precise and detailed physical models of a patient's teeth and gums.
- Trimming:Use a model trimmer and other tools to carefully shape and finish the models.
- Articulation:Mount models on articulators to replicate the patient's bite and jaw movements, ensuring accuracy for occlusal analysis and appliance fabrication.
- Quality control:Inspect and evaluate models for defects and accuracy, communicating any issues with the case to the appropriate department.
- Maintenance and supply management:Perform routine cleaning and maintenance on all model room equipment. Monitor and manage plaster and other supply inventories to ensure continuous workflow.
- Collaboration and communication:Work closely with other departments and supervisors to ensure production schedules are met and cases are progressing efficiently.
- Special projects:Assist with special projects or additional model preparation as assigned by management.
Required skills and qualifications- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Demonstrated experience with impression pouring, model trimming, and articulation.
- Excellent manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple cases effectively.
- Keen attention to detail to recognize and correct imperfections.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Basic computer literacy for digital scanning and case management software.
- Manufacturing background helpful
- Artistic skills are a plus
Physical requirements- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 15 pounds.
- Adequate vision for close, detailed work.
- Ability to use small hand tools for repetitive tasks, including grasping and pinching motions.
