Position Overview
The RN Manager – Mother Baby is responsible for the overall leadership, operational management, and clinical oversight of the Mother Baby unit.
This role ensures the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care while maintaining efficient unit operations, staff engagement, and strong clinical outcomes.
Working closely with nursing leadership and interdisciplinary teams, the RN Manager will oversee staff development, performance management, quality improvement initiatives, and daily unit operations.
This position is ideal for a strong postpartum nursing leader who is passionate about maternal-newborn care, staff mentorship, and patient-centered healthcare delivery.

Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Leadership

Oversee clinical operations of the Mother Baby unit
-
Ensure delivery of safe, evidence-based, and patient-centered care
-
Maintain compliance with hospital policies, regulatory requirements, and accreditation standards

Monitor patient outcomes, safety initiatives, and quality metrics
Operational Management
-
Manage daily unit operations, staffing, and workflow
-
Ensure appropriate staffing levels and resource allocation
-
Maintain efficient unit performance while supporting patient satisfaction initiatives
Staff Leadership & Development
-
Recruit, mentor, and develop nursing and support staff
-
Conduct performance evaluations and coaching
-
Foster a positive work culture focused on teamwork, collaboration, and professional growth
-
Promote staff engagement and retention
Quality & Performance Improvement
-
Monitor clinical quality indicators and patient safety outcomes
-
Implement process improvement initiatives
-
Ensure adherence to evidence-based practices in postpartum care
Interdisciplinary Collaboration

Partner with physicians, nursing leadership, and hospital departments

Support initiatives that improve maternal and newborn outcomes

Participate in hospital-wide leadership and quality programs
Required QualificationsEducation
-
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) – Required
-
Master’s Degree in Nursing or Healthcare Administration – Preferred
Licensure
-
Active Registered Nurse (RN) License
-
Georgia RN License OR
-
Compact / Multi-State RN License
-
Certifications
-
BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA or American Red Cross
-
ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – AHA or American Red Cross
-
NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
-
Required within 60 months if not currently held

Experience Requirements
-
3+ years of recent RN experience in Women’s Services within an acute care hospital
-
1+ year of leadership or supervisory experience
-
Strong Mother/Baby or Postpartum clinical experience
-
Demonstrated team leadership and operational management skills
