A K-12 school in Asheville, NC is seeking a licensed Occupational Therapist to provide specialized services throughout the academic year on a contract basis. This opportunity offers a structured schedule serving preschool through 12th grade students across six locations, with an emphasis on direct services primarily for younger students and consultative support for middle and high school students.
Qualifications:
- Valid North Carolina Occupational Therapy license
- Experience working in school-based settings preferred
- Ability to manage a caseload of approximately 54 students effectively
Position Details:
- Start Date: ASAP
- End Date: First week of June
- Schedule: 40 hours per week, 5 days per week
- Clientele: Preschool to 12th grade students
- Service Delivery: Direct therapy primarily for younger students; consultative minutes for middle and high school
- Locations: Six school sites with a set schedule designed to minimize travel between facilities
Responsibilities:
- Provide occupational therapy assessments, interventions, and consultative services tailored to the needs of students
- Collaborate with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to support student progress and inclusion
- Maintain accurate documentation and schedules to ensure compliance with school policies and regulations
- Deliver services in a manner that respects the unique needs of each learner and fosters functional independence
