Reports to: Divisional Manager

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm (Day Shift)

Job Overview:

Industrial Manufacturing Analyst partners with sales, customers, customer service, quality, and manufacturing team members to ensure customer expectations are met through exceptional quality designs and cost projections. They analyze processes, design efficiency/workflows, and implement strategies to enhance productivity, quality and cost. The role requires a blend of engineering principles, analytics, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.

Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • In coordination with fellow engineers and the Divisional Manager, plan, execute and manage projects aimed at continuous improvement, working with various teams and stakeholders.
  • Communicate effectively with management, clients, vendors, and production staff to gather information, provide updates, and ensure alignment on project goals.
  • Design and implement control systems, including inventory control, logistics, and material flow systems.
  • Estimate production costs (material, labor, equipment, and indirect cost) analyze cost-saving methods and assess the impact of product design changes on expenditures.
  • Analyze drawings, specifications, and other project documents to understand the cope and requirements. Provide feedback on specs related to customer drawings.
  • Develop and manage production schedule, coordinating resources and activities to meet production goals. Update routing of product orders per operational requirements.
  • Establish and maintain quality control procedures to ensure products meet specified standards and minimize defects.
  • Work alongside the production and quality teams to address quality issues and support actions necessary to reduce the number of non-conformances.
  • Data entry and database management required.
  • Conduct time studies to understand, document, and improve processes.
  • Participate in a culture that works with a sense of urgency and disciplined adherence that supports customer quality and delivery expectations while achieving profitability targets.
  • Identify and address any issues or delays that may disrupt production, ensuring timely delivery.
  • Participate in safety practices and policies.
  • Participate in training and lead by example, including but not limited to quality standards, safety practices and compliance.

  • Ability to analyze complex problems relevant to modern manufacturing with emphasis on safety, quality, productivity and cost through continuous improvement that identifies root causes and develops effective solutions.
  • Continuous learner and a proactive approach to acquiring new knowledge and skills. Actively seeks out learning opportunities, adapting to change, and reflecting on one's own learning process. Ability to reflect and make improvements professionally and personally.
  • Ability to utilize and read tape measures and digital calipers (length, width, thickness, diameter or depth of an object or hole).
  • Practical application of calculus, linear algebra, and statistics. A strong emphasis on probability and statistics for modeling and analysis.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science degree or two plus years of equivalent experience in industrial manufacturing, fluid power manufacturing, mechanical, and/or quality control management.
  • Two to three years of experience as an Industrial Manufacturing Analyst in an OEM fabricator setting is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Lean and/or Six Sigma principles and ISO 9001.
  • Experience using epicor and CAD systems are a plus.  Proficient with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Type 25+ wpm.

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Certified Six Sigma Green Belt a plus
  • Certified Reliability Engineer or Certified Quality Engineer a plus

Workplace Environment:

  • At any one of the Value Added Companies, the environment can be associated with manufacturing, office, retail, and laboratory.
  • The manufacturing environment and laboratory requires Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as defined by each facility. PPE could include eye protection, face shield, gloves, masks, ear plugs, and closed toe/steel toe shoes. The manufacturing environment can get warm in the summer months.
  • The office and retail spaces at Value Added Companies are climate controlled by the season and location of the facility.
