POSITION SUMMARY:

The Food Service Delivery Driver is responsible for loading/unloading all meals to each site in a timely fashion; maintain overall cleanliness of the van; assist in cleaning the kitchen if time permits, dishes, labeling of warmers/coolers for delivery. May also be asked to pick up product from local grocery stores. The warmers/coolers that need to be loaded on a daily basis may weigh up to 50lbs. This position requires a valid chauffeur's license with good driving record. Applicants must be available Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM, with flexibility for an occasional 7am start time.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Properly labels warmers/coolers for delivery to each site
  • Assists in placing prepared meals in their proper containers
  • Maintains/cleans the van while properly filling out the vehicle check list
  • Keep records of the deliveries for each day
  • Drives delivery Van to numerous off-sites safely and in a timely fashion
  • Efficiently loads and unloads warmers/coolers into the vehicle for delivery
  • Communicates in a professional manor with each site coordinator

Performs any other functions deemed to be necessary for the smooth and efficient operation of the YMCA of Greater Grand Rapids Association


COMPENSATION

$14.35 - $17.93 ; Non-Exempt, Part-Time (up to 25 hours/week)

Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED); one to three months of previous delivery driving experience and/or training preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to interact with people of all ethnic backgrounds, ages, and lifestyles. YMCA experience preferred.


CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATION

  • State of Michigan criminal background clearance (ICHAT)
  • Blood Borne Pathogen training
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certification required within the first 60 days
  • First Aid Certification required within the first 60 days
  • Valid Michigan Driver's License
  • Valid Chauffeur's License
  • Clean Driving Record
