We are looking for an experienced pastry chef for a newly opened restaurant/patisserie in the heart of Glendale CA. We are a full-time restaurant with a specialization in pastry art and serving delicate desserts both for in-house and to-go options.
Responsibilities:
Menu Planning and Development:
- Develop and create new pastry and dessert items that align with the restaurant's theme and customer preferences.
- Collaborate with the head chef and kitchen team to ensure dessert offerings complement the overall menu.
Preparation and Production:
- Prepare a wide variety of desserts, pastries, breads, and other baked goods according to recipes or special requests.
- Ensure all pastry and baked items are prepared in a timely manner and meet quality standards.
Presentation:
- Plate desserts and pastries in an attractive and appealing manner.
- Ensure all items leaving the kitchen are visually appealing and meet presentation guidelines.
Kitchen Operations:
- Manage inventory and stock control of pastry ingredients and supplies.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pastry kitchen and equipment.
- Adhere to all sanitation and food safety regulations.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Pastry Chef, Baker, or similar role in a high-volume kitchen environment.
- Extensive knowledge of pastry and dessert techniques, ingredients, and recipes.
- Creativity and passion for pastry and dessert preparation.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Formal culinary training or degree in Culinary Arts is a plus.
