We are seeking an experienced Construction Job Estimator to prepare accurate cost estimates, bids, and proposals for construction projects in South Florida. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, experience reading construction drawings, and knowledge of local construction costs.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractors
- Perform quantity takeoffs from architectural, structural, and MEP drawings
- Analyze RFPs, RFQs, and bid packages
- Develop budgets, bids, and proposals with accurate margins
- Coordinate pricing with vendors and subcontractors
- Support value engineering and cost optimization
- Maintain organized and accurate estimating documentation
- Work closely with Project Managers and Operations teams
- Meet bid deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience as a Construction Estimator
- Strong knowledge of construction cost estimating and takeoffs
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Experience with estimating software such as PlanSwift, Bluebeam, or On-Screen Takeoff
- Advanced Excel skills (formulas, spreadsheets, cost models)
- Knowledge of South Florida construction costs and market pricing
- Strong analytical, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills
- Ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously
- Fluent in English/Spanish
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Procore or similar construction management software
- Background in General Contracting, Concrete, or Commercial Construction
- Knowledge of Florida Building Code
- Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
- Experience with value engineering and cost control during construction
