About the Role:

As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), you will work closely with our occupational therapists to provide high-quality occupational therapy services to our residents. Your expertise will enable our residents to develop, recover, and maintain the skills necessary for daily living, while promoting independence and overall well-being. You will assist in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of individualized occupational therapy programs, and collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to ensure comprehensive care.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist occupational therapists in the development and implementation of individualized treatment plans

  • Provide occupational therapy interventions to residents, including exercises, activities, and devices to promote independence and functional skills

  • Conduct assessments, evaluations, and progress reports to track resident progress and adjust treatment plans as needed

  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, physical therapists, and speech therapists, to ensure comprehensive care

  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of resident treatment and progress

  • Participate in regular team meetings and training sessions to stay current with best practices and industry developments

Requirements:

  • Current certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree in occupational therapy or related field preferred

  • 1+ year of experience as a COTA, preferably in a long-term care or rehabilitation setting
