As we continue to grow, we are seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to oversee and enhance our human resources operations.
Position Summary:
The Human Resources Manager will play a key role in fostering a positive work environment and supporting our company’s growth by developing and implementing HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy. This position will be responsible for managing all aspects of human resources practices and processes, including recruitment, staff development, performance management, employee relations, payroll and compliance with labor laws, union rules and certified payroll legislation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives that align with the company's business goals and objectives.
- Help to facilitate the recruitment process, including job postings, candidate screening, and onboarding, to ensure we attract and retain skilled employees.
- Oversee employee relations, including handling employee grievances, disciplinary actions, and facilitating conflict resolution.
- Conduct performance management processes to drive a high-performance culture, including performance reviews, feedback, and training and development programs.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws and regulations, and stay updated on new legislation that impacts HR.
- Administer employee benefits programs, such as health insurance, retirement plans, and leave policies.
- Develop and manage HR policies and procedures to meet the company's needs and comply with legal standards.
- Provide support and guidance to other roles to help support cross training.
- Handle all payroll processing to ensure accuracy and compliance.
-Handle all certified payroll reporting including establishing wage rates and classifications.
-Maintain records and pay all Union fringe benefits to meet the local compliance rules and deadlines.
- Foster a positive work environment and culture that supports employee engagement and retention.
-Maintaining a HIRS database
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP or PHR) is preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of human resource management experience, preferably in the construction, contracting, or related industry.
- Strong understanding of labor law and employment regulations.
- Proven experience in recruitment, performance management, employee relations, and HR strategy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels of the organization.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
