Position Summary:
We are seeking a Medical Records Technician with 5 years of experience in managing, organizing, and safeguarding patient health records. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with HIPAA, HHSAR, and other federal standards while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities:

Maintain, organize, and manage patient medical records (electronic and paper-based).

Perform medical coding, indexing, abstracting, and quality checks.

Process release of information (ROI) requests according to HIPAA and Privacy Act standards.

Support audits and ensure records meet regulatory requirements.

Assist in training staff on proper records handling and documentation standards.

Ensure compliance with HHSAR and government contract requirements.
Qualifications:

5 years of experience in medical records or health information management.

Associate Degree in Health Information Management or related field.

RHIT or CCS certification preferred.

Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic, Cerner, VistA, MEDITECH, etc.).

Knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS coding.

Strong attention to detail and confidentiality.
